For the iOS app “BrushBrush” (bundle com.brushbrush.SwiftBrush)

The app is English-only and this English version is the authoritative one. The German version is provided for convenience.
In short
BrushBrush collects no personal data. Everything the app knows lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage that only your Apple account can read. The camera is analysed live on the phone and is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of ours.

None of this is sent to us. We have no server and no way to read it.
3. The camera
During a brushing session the app uses the front camera to see whether the child is brushing. Each frame is analysed on the device by Apple’s Vision framework the moment it arrives and is discarded immediately. No photo or video is captured, saved, uploaded or shown to anyone. The camera is only on while a session is running and stops when the session ends. iOS asks for permission the first time, and it can be withdrawn at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
4. iCloud
If iCloud is enabled for BrushBrush on your device, the app keeps a copy of the data in section 2 in the private database of your own iCloud account (Apple’s CloudKit). That is what lets a family’s progress follow them to a new phone. Only devices signed into your Apple account can read it. We, the developer, cannot access it, and Apple processes it under the iCloud terms of your Apple account. You can turn this off under Settings → your name → iCloud → (Saved to iCloud) → BrushBrush, and delete what is stored under Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → BrushBrush.
5. Purchases
Coins are earned by brushing and cannot be bought. The app offers optional in-app purchases (content packs and a coin booster) through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see a payment method, a name or an address. What we receive from Apple is the fact that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock it. Every purchase sits behind a parental gate, and Family Sharing applies to the content packs. Refunds and receipts are handled by Apple under your Apple account.
6. Children
BrushBrush is made for children aged 4 to 10 and is offered in the App Store’s Kids category. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, no personal information about children is collected, used or disclosed by us, and no parental consent for data collection is required under COPPA or Art. 8 GDPR. A child’s profile name can be anything, a nickname works fine. Purchases and the parent dashboard are behind a gate a young child cannot pass.
7. What we do not do
- No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting of ours
- No advertising and no ad networks
- No third-party SDKs and no third-party trackers
- No accounts, no sign-in, no e-mail collection
- No selling or sharing of data, because we hold none
The only network connections the app makes are to Apple: iCloud (if enabled) and the App Store.
8. Deleting data
Delete a child under the parent dashboard (“Delete …”), or delete the app to remove everything on the device. If iCloud was on, delete the iCloud copy as described in section 4. There is nothing to delete on our side.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase personal data concerning you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Since we do not process your personal data, there is nothing we can hand over or delete; everything is in your own hands on your device and in your iCloud account. You may still write to us (section 1) with any question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for us the Hessischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Wiesbaden.
10. Changes
If this policy ever changes, for example because a feature needs a new kind of data, the updated version ships with the app update that needs it, and the app keeps its no-collection default.
